David "Walks-As-Bear"

David Walks-As-Bear is an American Shawnee Indian. He has been a hunter and angler his whole life. He began writing as a U.S. Coast Guard Photojournalist almost 20 years ago.


He has written for many outdoor sports magazines and newspapers on the topics of hunting and fishing. His other jobs have ranged from a U.S. Forest Ranger in Alaska to a Park Ranger in National Forests. He has been a Deputy Conservation Officer with the Michigan DNR.


Presently, he works as a Private Game Warden and writes a weekly outdoor column for a local newspaper


He has been married for 25 years and has five kids, a Chocolate Lab named "Hershey and a black cat named, "Baggheria". They all live in a log house where they love each other, The Great Good Spirit and all of his natural creations in Hart, Michigan.
