Welcome

We are just beginning to publish books on the topics of hunting, fishing, trapping, camping, hiking, etc. for kids. Our target audience for these books are children, 8 years old to young adults. However, we've found that many older folks find them fascinating too.

Over the years, we've received numerous inquiries from librarians and book stores across the country asking if we could direct them to publishers of such "How-To" literature. These folks say that there just isn't anything for children in this genre. Indeed, we found that to be true. Hence, our first effort in this vein:

A How-To Book for Kids on Bowhunting for Deer

"How to Become a Swamp Creature"

Packed with color photographs and information, the book is designed for kids in the age range listed above. It possesses a definite Native American flavor that draws youngsters with these, the very first bowhunters in America. Written with humor and facts, the book tells just about everything a budding hunter needs to know about deer and how to hunt them. It covers deer feeding, their senses, trails, scrapes & rubs, fur, antlers, mating, targeting, shooting accuracy and a host of other vital facts. You name it, its probably here. Most importantly though, the book covers hunting ethics to a great extent.

The book relies heavily on both the past and the present for educational fact. The American Indian is used to place archery deer hunting in a proper historical context. In essence, the respect for the animals hunted and the duty to do it right. Modern conservation management professionals such as the Department of Natural Resources are talked about to explain why hunting is a vital and necessary tool for protecting and preserving wildlife.
The book was test marketed with a large Mid-West children's library and results have shown that kids will not only read it ferociously but that they will also.... understand it. That's what is most important to us.

To that end, we offer the "Swamp Creature" aka, "Bowhunter"

Please click on a photo to get a feel for the book and decide if the child you know, would be interested in it.
