Welcome
The Wildland Press is a publisher of educational outdoor
conservation literature. We primarily supply state conservation
departments and educational institutions within the United
States. Therefore, we are not a traditional publishing house.
However, we have published some conventional books. Over the
years, we've received numerous inquiries from librarians and book
stores across the country asking if we could direct them to publishers
of "How-To" literature for kids on the topics of outdoor sports such as
hunting. These people say that there just isn't anything for children
in this genre. Indeed, we found this to be true, hence, our entrance
into this area.
These How-To books cover topics like hunting, fishing, trapping,
camping, hiking, etc. Our target audience for these books is children
8 years old to young adults. Although designed for young people, we've
found that many older folks find them fascinating, too. We are now in
the process of publishing several childrens story books as well.
Additionally we are branching out slowly into the adult fiction
publishing arena. We are publishing several books by authors with
whom we have a long standing relationship and some new ones. All
of the books that we produce are listed on this site for sale. Some are
out of print at present but will be republished in the future. Please
